CVS hangs in build 813

Running on Windows XP, with a pserver on the lan which works fine in 802

Starting from a fresh installation from idea813.exe, fresh project. In
project properties I check that it has already located my .cvspass file -
which it has.

Selecting tools on the menu bar and then down to CVS and selecting "Check
Out Project". No repositories are listed (as expected), so I hit "..." and
then "Add..."

I enter my CVS Root as it appears in 802 -
":pserver:myuser@myserver:/cvsroot" - Test connection is ticked, and I dont
need to relogin as my log is already in there. At this point it freezes - no
error, no exception in the black debug trace window.

I figure it may be a DNS issue, so I turn off my local DNS client - but this
gives me an IOException and refuses to contiue (which is doesnt in 802)...
but I figure I might as well try by IP.

Note: I just get a dialog box saying "IOException" when I try to add the
respository - nothing appears in the black debug window so I can only guess
it doesnt like not having a DNS client service enabled - the only app on my
machine that has even noticed or had an effect - but this is somewhat beside
the point.

Reloading 813 and entering ":pserver:myuser@myserverip:/cvsroot" it asks me
for my password (as it wouldnt have had an entry in my .cvspass) so I enter
it ... and once again, it hangs.

CVS integration is a crutial part of my life with idea and I would love to
be able to play with the new CVS integration, if I could just get it to work
;)

All help / suggestions / ideas welcome, thanks in advance

- Dan

Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this behaviour. Maybe it's the server
problem? Try to open another cvs repository using Tools/Checkout Project (e.
g.:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/gaim with empty password).
Have you the same problem with it?

This is even stranger...

When I go through to "Checkout Project", select the "...", put in
":pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/gaim", and then click "ok",
it asks me for a password. I leave the password blank (as suggested) and
after submitting I get an error box up with no writing, just an exclamation
mark.

I retry 3 times and the same happens - then I wait ... and try again - and I
get "connection successful".

So I try my original steps (identical in every way) ... and it now works
instead of getting IOException.

Ummm sorry I cant give you any more useful debugging data but I have nothing
more I can give you ... could just be a very strange coincidental error?

Thanks for your help, I'll be sure to let you know if it reoccurs as its
been driving me up the wall!
