why don't you use the newest ant version(1.5.3)???

They may not be aware of it? If they were using 1.5.2 then moving to
1.5.3 would be a very good reason as 1.5.3 fixed some serious issues with
the <zip/> tasks from 1.5.2.

they use 1.5.1, i think. that is at least writen in the manifest of the ant.jar in $IDEA-LOCATION$/lib/

Another reason for OSX users of IDEA is that ANT 1.5.1 doesn't support the environment variables, but 1.5.2+ does work.

I've got a project that I'm on Windows at work and OSX at home, and it is a pain to constantly modify build.property files.

Aren't build.properties files supposed to be machine specific anyway?

Anything that is common to all environments should just be in your build.xml. Those things that are different depending on where you are (e.g. win vs mac, en vs fr) go into the local build.properties.

Got any OS/X Idea screenshots floating around?

Looks a lot like IDEA on Windows if you go with the default L&F. If you go Aqua, you get the following (see attached).

Hmmmm looks nice - another tempting reason for me to get an OS/X machine.
If only I could afford one.

Two questions: how can you work with that Courier font? Using that on my
Powerbook is the best way to get a headache in less than 30 minutes. Do
you also have problems with disappearing contents (redraw problem). This
tends to happen with the compiler messages. They pop up, the contents
appears and then disappears so that the contents of the frame is nearly
empty?

At my stage in the project, I'm not usually in the code for very much time anyway so I haven't really noticed. I'm sure when that changes I'll tweak the font. Which font are you using?

Yep, I get that too. I thought maybe it was an Java<->Aqua thing but it appears in the standard L&F too.

Monaco, although that doesn't have a bold face what is a bit unfortunate
in the code completition popup.

Another beta would have been good for that JDK. I hope they are shipping
an update soon.
