Navigating tag hierarchy in HTML

Hello all,

Are they any shortcuts or plugins that help with navigating up/down the HTML hierarchy? Something similar to how the shortcuts for "move caret to code block" work in a PHP document.

So e.g. go to the surrounding closing div, then hit the shortcut again to go to the next closing tag up in the hierarchy, etc. Would basically be navigating the tags that are used for code folding in an HTML doc.

Thanks!

Hi there,

You can use  "move caret to code block start/end" in HTML as well -- in actual .html file it works as you have described (as long as I have understood you correctly).

Ah I see, thank you for that information, I tried that out and it worked.

So then it looks like my problem is that I'm rarely coding HTML in html files, but in phtml, php and blade.php files.

Is there a way to add file types to shortcuts?

No .. because it works there as well -- it should detect from current caret position to what element you want to go (be it PHP code or HTML -- if we working in phtml file, for example)

Well -- at least it supposed to be:

https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/WI-20474 -- this ticket, for example, states that it's not fully working there.

Comment there .. or create your own ticket if that one does not cover your scenario.

Ah yep, looks like it's similar.

Thank you for your assistance, I'll continue with this using the ticket system.

Thanks!
