tuning system for better performance NOT after every eap-build update!!!!!!!

when i update IDEA(aurora) to a new eap-build(with the zip file or the installer) under win2K i must wait many minutes on opening the first and second time of EVERY project because the tuning system for better performance is running through the hole jdk.

1) why must you do this after every eap-build update???

2) why must you tune the performance of the jdk on the start of EVERY project. they all uses the same jdk!!! you can refer every project using the same jdk to one "perfomed jdk" or whatever you do!!! or you can tune the jdk performance after adding a new jdk in the configure JDKs dialog, for example.

PLEASE change something on the tuning system for better performance process because it is very angrily when i must wait half hour to open all my projects in the new eap-build!!!! remember there is new eap-build every weak!!!!!

Remember, this is EAP, you do not have to use every new EAP build. Granted, the Tuning system delay is annoying, but it was told several times by IntelliJ developers that this situation would be improved later and present annoyance is temporary.

Agreed.

Although I think the remark is worth considering to improve the tuning system. Building indexes should be done only once for each JDK, and there shouldn't be duplicates on the hard disk.

Are indexes duplicated for each project ?

Libraries (including JDK) is shareable. Tuning JDK system performance for
each project should be a bug if this is true. Would you please sumbit a bug
in tracker. Note we need a log file even if there weren't any exceptions.

Thank you.

Answering your first question. The version of the caches has been changed.
And the version changes since we're in development stage particulary fixing
bugs there. Is this exuse good enough?

that's ok. if you fix the bug i added into the tracker i'm happy! :)

I'd agree - we're more privileged than users of most applications in getting EAP builds - they might be buggy and you don't have to use them.

I would add to the original comment, however, that as well as "tuning", IDEA also wants to recompile all my files after each EAP installation, which means another long delay.
