IDEA Toolbar

Say you have IDEA running with no project opened. The enabled buttons in the toolbar are Save All, Synchronize, IDE Settings and Help. I have no objections about the IDE settings and the help button, though can any one see any reason to have the Save All and Synchronize buttons enabled there ? This is kind of disturbing and well, rather incoherent imho.

What we do need in this case is an Open project button, if not a New Project button, the Open file button is of secondary interest.

Of course you could say that all those actions are available in the File menu anyway so this shouldn't be a big deal. Yet i'm just here feeding you back with the remarks i had from the decision makers in my company whom i just exposed IDEA to. I finally could convince them to give up their JBuilder licences in order to buy several IDEA ones so this is definitelly not a big deal and i'm finally going to be able to develop with pleasure at work :) But still, i think those remarks make sense, don't they ? (especially since they're not the kind of feature that would require a lot of coding !)

You can configure the toolbar, including adding New Project and Open Project
buttons, with the Toolbar Manager plugin:

http://www.intellij.org/twiki/bin/view/Main/ToolbarManager

However, what you can't do yet with the plugin is configure the icons
:( I haven't had a chance to build an icon-choosing interface so for now
you're stuck with a rather lame and hokey red bullseye icon. Bummer.
