Watch a forum as a whole?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post, but I don't know
which is more appropriate.
Why is it I cannot watch a forum as a whole?
In our own installation of the Jive forum there is a
"Watch Forum" link in each forum's main page (that also
shows the topic list).

I'd very much like to watch the Announcement forum to get
an e-mail notification whenever there is a new build
available...

I'm wondering if the:
"Always email me watch update notices:"
option in the "Your Settings/Profile"
section of the EAP forum concerns EAP updates ... ?

Don't think so. If you are watching a topic then this
setting determines wether you get an e-mail for updates,
but it does not change the watches itself.
