Build 696
I downloaded and installed the 3.0.2 build (695) the other day, now there is
a new build 3.0.2v2 (696) up there. I can't see any issues against it in the
tracker, do I need to download this build?

There really should be a "What's new in this version" on the download page.
i think it's like the build 695 a build where only the docu for IDEA is new. when do they fix the important bugs??? the docu isn't as important as the bugs!!!!!
Yes, I have counted that there are more then 500+ bugs currently not
assigned to Arora. So I am wondering when they will fix these bugs. I am
just scared that when Arora eap starts, Intellij won't even look into those
bugs cause they will just blindly say that those bugs are not assigned to
Arora.
So if those 500+ bugs are not fixed now before Arora eap, then they will
never be fixed !!!!!
You have interest in some of the bugs? Vote for them.
You want to get the number of database records down to zero? Why?
Did you look at all these bugs and believe they MUST be fixed before
Aurora? Must be fixed ever? Then vote for them.

Or it's just like this kind of logic: the software that has more than 500
bugs in bugtracking system is unusable?

Actually not all this bugs is really bugs, some of them are cosmetics, some not detected duplicates, some limitation of current architecture(I think, may be I wrong) etc.
But the problem of open for all tracker that everyone using search can say something like 'IT IS REALLY BUGGY!' even your 'friends' Borland and others(just joke).
But this problem not compared with 'magic' of live tracker.
So I agree that number of bugs not the main aim of software development.
Perhaps their bug database did not allow for more than 65536 bug records to be stored?

I just want to have a list of whats changed so I can take an active decision if I need it or not. IDEA do have some bugs that I like to have fixed. So yes I "need" a new release, but if they aren't any bugfixes in the new release, then it's not worth the time for updating.

There were some cosmetics fixed in the help, the build was made just to address these changes.
No need to upgrade unless you need up-to-date help pages (which are also available online:
http://www.intellij.com/docs/help/index.html).
