IDEA locked in selection extension mode

Several of my co-workers experienced a nasty problem that forces them to
reboot their Win2K box. No matter what we do IDEA is stuck in extending the
selection. Toolbars, menu do not work anymore and a move of the mouse will
adjust/start the selection (like if I was moving the mouse with the
shift-Left mouse button pressed). Needless to say that once that happens
IDEA is unusable. Restarting IDEA doesn't help. Only a complete reboot will
solve the problem. I browsed the bug parade to no avail.
Any idea?

Jacques

Does removing dlls from IDEA-HOME/bin directory help?

Sometimes I have been able to do ctrlaltdel, look at the task manager and then close the task manager. Quite often (about 50%) of the times the problem went away.

See if that helps...

Does this only affect IDEA or all Windows applications? What
keyboard/mouse do you use?

Only IDEA.
All instances happened on our standard configuration: Toshiba Tecra 9000 on
its docking station equiped with a logitec PS2 mouse and keyboard.

You then got a different problem. Sorry that I couldn't be of any help.
