PhpStorm performance fixes?

Hello,

Are there are tips for improving PhpStorm's performance? I'm just about exasperated with it at this point, on a new/loaded MacBook Pro that runs pretty much anything else like lightning.

For example, I can only scroll through files in what I consider a modest project at literally ~2 FPS. It should be 30+ FPS, and 60+ FPS would be better. I happen to be using the EAP, but EAP performance is about the same as release versions.

I found one about enabling OpenGL rendering by adding -Dawt.java2d.opengl=true to vmoptions, but that didn't seem to improve anything for me.
