Newbie: How to include/exclude single files for IDEA project?

Hi,

the project I'm working on has directories mixed with functional and defunct Java files. I'd like to create projects with some of the functional files. Moving or renaming the files is not an option. I have been using Visual Cafe where I can include single files into my project. Is something similar possible for IDEA?

Thanks, Sam

Yep, I am also interested in this. I used WebGain for a while (rebranded
VC), and I liked this feature.

Hi,

I don't think you can 'hide' files but you can exclude them from compilation.

You can exclude files and directories from : "Project Properties -> Compiler -> Exclude from Compile".

And you can also exclude single files by rightclicking on their names when they show up in the "Messages - Javac Compile" toolwindow during compilation.
