Open the same project twice

Hi IntelliGuys,
I'd like to hear your opinion whether you think it is safe to open the same
project twice (either another frame or another IDEA instance - I believe
there
shouldn't be a difference). What if I do any changes to the project?
- minor changes (opened files, bookmarks, breakpoints,...)
- project structure changes (adding source paths, ...)
