I have been having sporadic issues with WebStorm freezing up in the middle of editing files. For the most part, invalidating my cache after forcing down the IDE and restarting has fixed the issue. The latest freeze has the system completely unresponsive when it first launches. I have been forcing down the IDE and restarting in the hopes that it will stay functioning long enough for me to get into the cache invalidation option but no luck. As the IDE is rendering and it is trying to load my default project, it freezes and must be forced down. I have been unable to use the tool for two days.
So a few questions here:
- Why does the IDE frequently just freeze for no apparent reason during editing sessions?
- Is there a log file where I can see if is shows any indication of the last thing it completed before it froze?
- Is there a way (Registry, local files on my system) where I can remove the default project to load so I can see if that will allow the IDE to stay up long enough for me to try a few things?
I disabled Perforce integration because, when active, seemed to be causing the IDE to freeze more often.

Thank you in advance for any help.
