No License Key?

My trial expired this morning, so I purchased a commercial license. I registered this and received a certificate but no license key. My history says that I have a purchase, sent an invitation to myself, accepted this and to now login to my account within PHPStorm. I cannot find where to do this.

So I tried instead to go to Help->Register. Since I have no key I am trying the server option. I do not have a server address so I click Discover. When I click 'Discover' server I get a connection not available message. I selected the server not license key option (which may have been a mistake).

I know I am missing something. Thanks very much for any help.

Hi there,

What product and version do you have there?

Since I have no key I am trying the server option. I do not have a server address so I click Discover. When I click 'Discover' server I get a connection not available message. I selected the server not license key option (which may have been a mistake).

As far as I'm aware this is definitely not the right option for you -- it's for corporate environments where licenses are stored on local licensing server.

In "Help | Register...":

  • Choose  "License key" option if you have license key (in your email it should be starting with "===== LICENSE BEGIN =====" line). Maybe you have not received such email yet.
  • Choose "JetBrains account" option if you see your license in your JB account (available at https://account.jetbrains.com/licenses)

When you say "My history says that I have a purchase, sent an invitation to myself, accepted this and to now login to my account within PHPStorm." -- what do you see after  you enter you login details in "Help | Register..."? For me it showed small dialog offering which license to use (for some reason I have 2 in my name; one is already expired and one is still valid). What do you see there?

Do you see your license on https://account.jetbrains.com/licenses page?

I'm on Version 7.1

On the license page I see this:

Upgrades subscription expires September 13, 2015

Please use your JetBrains Account credentials in PhpStorm to use this license.

I think because I selected the license server option I messed up and don't actually get a license. Unless there's a way to convert this, but I've looked everywhere and no luck so far. I am thinking this is something Jet Brains may have to do for me manually. I will keep an eye out for that email though. If it's something that is not automatic, this could definitely be the case.

Thank you very much for your reply.

That's great. Now what version exactly, please.

Unless there's a way to convert this, but I've looked everywhere and no luck so far.

Screenshots please (of your "Register..." screen and whatever else is important you think).

Oh, sorry. 7.1.3. I attached my register screen before and after the license server detection. My certificate has no license key only a link to activation. It's the following and a link to activate which I have done.

"JetBrains account" option is only available in 7.1.4 -- whole "Register..." screen looks different. Please upgrade: http://www.jetbrains.com/phpstorm/download/

If you have your license listed in your JB account ( https://account.jetbrains.com/licenses ), then use 7.1.4 and that option.
