Read-only background setting stopped working in 5.0

Anybody else noticed that a read-only background setting has no effect in 5.0? "Default text" background always overrides. If default text background is unselected, then the read-only background applies to all files, read-only or not.

If you observations are different, please post. That would mean something got screwed-up in my installation...
