Selecting White Space Before Tag with Double Click

One of the many features I love about NotePad++ is the ability to double-click the white space before a tag that has been tabbed out 1, 2, 3, etc times from column 0. I can double-click to highlight it and then delete it if I choose. I like to have my content listed in order as much as possible hierarchically. For PHPStorm, when I double click the white space before a tag (such as td, p, a, etc) the entire segment inside that current code block is selected (such as if a paragraph tag is inside a div, everything in that div is selected). It's quite irritating, and is completely differnet compared to what I want. Can you tell me if this issue can be solved to work the way I want it using the application preferences? I really love the software, but because I use NotePad++ so much, I'd like to have one of the more common features I use shared between the two programs.

I do not think it is possible to behave like that.

If you want to remove leading space just use Unindent (Shift+Tab).

Thank you for the tip, but unfortunately isn't quite what I wanted. Shift+tab is a different function which I also use quite a lot.

The ability to select white space before a tag with double click is a feature available in most IDEs and text/code editors. NotePad++, Sublime, Visual Studio, UltraEdit, Brackets and many more. Sublime is made using ACE code editor which supports this, and Brackets is made using codemirror, which also supports this.

However, anything along the lines of an Eclipse-based editor doesn't.
