Text editor behavior when typing after selecting text

I'm encountering strange behavior in WebStorm's text editor. It may be a setting that I don't know about, but when I select a block of text and then begin typing (to replace the text I selected), WebStorm just ignores the first character. Or, more specifically, it seems like WebStorm interprets the first character I type, no matter what it is, as the delete or backspace key instead of a letter/number.

So, for example:

<div id="foo"></div>

If I wanted to replace the id of this div from "foo" to "bar", I'd select foo, and type bar. But I would end up with this:

<div id="ar"></div>

I'm using WebStorm 7.0.3.

Hello!

haven't heard of such issues. Does it happen when editing HTML only? What keymap is being used (Settings/Keymap)? Can you export your settings (File/Export settings) and attach them to the thread? Also, a screencast that shows up the issue would be helpful

Thanks for the reply!

Yes, it does seem to only happen when editing HTML. My keymap is set to default.

I've attached my settings. I'm unable to do a screencast at the moment, but can later today if it is necessary.

works fine to me using your settings... Is it specific to certain files? Can you attach a sample projectb that shows up the issue? Also, how do you select the text - using mouse or keyboard?

I made a new project, created test.ejs, and typed this:

<script type="text">

<div id="foo"></div>
</script>

It happens when selecting with either the mouse or the keyboard.

I didn't notice before, but it seems specific to *.ejs files, and within a script tag with the type property set to "text".
