Weblogic Deployment Question

In the Run/Debug Configurations window on the WebLogic Instance tab, can anyone tell me the difference between using weblogic.Deployer and Auto Deploy? I know that weblogic.Deployer is a java class that ships with Weblogic but I'm not sure how it differs from the Auto Deploy option.

Thanks,

Joe

weblogic.Deployer method is the one you use when invoking weblogic.deploy utility or use console. It is the most universal and
recommended method to deploy.

Auto deploy method copies your module archive e.g. myWebApp.war or exploded directory into weblogic domain applications directory
(and updates META-INF/REDEPLOY file if necessary). Weblogic scans that directory and automatically redeploys changes. It used when
running local weblogic server instance in debugging mode.
