Unable to change binding

I have created a form with a number of inputs. About 1/2 of the way through creating the form, I decided it would be better, if it was on a splitter with a table at the top. Basically, selecting a row in the table would bring up data to edit in the form.

Unfortunately, I had already bound the panel with the form on it to my contentPane variable which was a JPanel. Now I need a JSplitPane as my contentPane.

It seems when I created the JSplitpane, it automatically took the binding to my contentPane (not sure why), but now I have 2, and and can't get rid of the binding on the JPanel.

Am I doing something wrong, or is this a bug?

Thanks,

Mike

I fixed it by manually removing the "contentPane" binding in the grid element.

Hello Mike,

I also try to understand how it bind. That results:

Then alos try bind, IDEA try to find field of same class. So, if you have JTabbedPane, ou must have JTabbedPane in your class to bind.

If one field already binded on component, then ou must clear binding save form, close and reopen form.

Thanks!

About JContentPane i think that you must have JSplitPane in your class. Also you must app JSplitPane to content pane of your owner class.
For example:

Is there a tracker on this yet? This seems like quite a serious problem.
