Sharing libraries

I'm not sure if I don't understand how library definitions (as in Libraries in your "Project Properties - Paths" configuration) work, but is it not possible to share these definitions with other users?

Am I right in saying that the library definitions get saved to your local IDEA installation's settings, and there is no option to save them elsewhere such that other users could share them?

JBuilder allows you to do this and is extremely useful in a team environment. Please tell me IDEA can do this too.

Regards,

Darren

In ariadna (idea 3.x) it's not possible. The simple workaround, is copying
the library.table.xml file in the idea config dir to the other machines. Of
course, when the libs change, you have to copy the file again or sync by
hand.

In aurora it's work in progress: it's implemented for simple projects, but
the full (new) project implementation is not done.

I tried copying library.table.xml to other machines but for some
reason this never worked for me. Other machines/developers have
other hard drive configurations and unfortunately folders in
library.table.xml are absolute.

I just hope they will do this right in Aurora since I think that
this is a crucial feature.

Unfortunatley, what I've seen so far in Aurora isn't right at all.
Aurora does allow you to define libraries with relative paths (to allow
developers to check out the source at the root of their choice)-
however, these libraries are defined in the project file, which means
that, although developers can share the project file, you must redefine
all relative-path shared libraries for each project. Please read and
