Why WebStorm closes files after opening?

Hi!
Have a WebStorm 5.0.4 at Windows 8.

Need to open several files from folder shared on another computer. E.g it is \\%ip_address%\MySite.
I'm opening \\%ip_address%\MySite\css\style.css, it opens and immediately closes and I see following message in event log:
1:48:24 PM Error Loading Project: Cannot load module BmcCoursesHtml5 Details...
When I click on details, I see this:
Cannot load module file \\%ip_address%\MySite\.idea\MySite.iml does not exist. Would you like remove module "MySite" from the project?

Surely, there is no such module - MySite folder is not a WebStrom's project, and will not be.

WTF?
I just want to edit .css file! I have no need in new project, moreover, any files/folders like ".idea" created by WebStorm will be deleted immediately after necessary changes are made.

Also... where is indicator of unsaved file?!

Hi Vsevolod,

File on remote filesystem: first, let me warn you that working over network is officially not supported. We suggest to use 'Create project from existing files' wizard in 'Network share' scenario. IDE will copy your project files to local hard drive and then copy them back automatically on save. In the same time behaviour sounds rather unexpected to me. Would it be possible to provide some screenshots or a screencast maybe?

Unsaved file: Settings -> Editor -> Editor tabs -> Mark modified tabs with asterisk.

Thanks,
Kirill

Thank you!
Problem with working on file in shared folder was due to other developer that opened it in another instance of WebStorm at the same time.

But the part of problem remains: how to create new / edit existing file without creating a new project?

Unfortunately, at the moment there's no way to edit single remote file - please see http://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/WI-1398.
Instead, you can create project for a single folder that contains the file you need to change.

Hi there,

You cannot -- one of the cornerstones of this IDE is working around projects -- at the end of the day it is an IDE and not just advanced text editor (lots of functionality depends on having project files indexed etc).

Heh, surely IDE. But why when I need only it's basic functions, I should dance with tambourine around it ?..
Всем спасибо!
