License lost on upgrade

Why does PHPStorm lose the license when you upgrade? I just installed version 5 upgrading 4 and I have to enter  my license all over again. It seems like it would be saved off in preferences, or at least since I also have an account on the Jetbrains preferences server that's tied to my account anyway that it would all be synchronized.
