Red screen in AirDisplay
Hi,
I have a portable PC with Windows 7 Professional. I tried this issue with PHPStorm 3.0.3 and 4.0.1.
I like to use my iPad as second screen, using the app AirDisplay.
When I drag the PHPStorm window to my iPad, the PHPStorm application turns red, within the window.
This does not happen with other applications like MS Outlook, Notepad++ and Google Chrome.
Did anyone try PHPStorm on a second screen?
Did you try it with AirDisplay?
Do you have any idea what could be going wrong?
Any help much appreciated!
Geert.

I tried this on OS X and it works perfectly... but I tried it again on Windows 7 and I see the red screen like you see.
To be specific, the app canvas is red, the window frame is not, the desktop is not. Just PHPStorm.
I also tried SmartGit to see if it was a Java thing, and that was fine.
Indeed, same here.
Thanks for the confirmation.
Geert.
Unforunately we have no experience with AirDisplay.
You may file a bug into project issue tracker http://youtrack.jetbrains.com/dashboard#newissue=yes
However I can't give any estimates when we might be able to address this.
OK, done.
Thanks.
What about other Java apps ?
I understand that your question is: Does the canvas also turn red with other Java apps, when you drag them to the second screen?
I understand Jonathan above was looking in the same direction and tested SmartGit which works fine. So, the issue seems to be specific to PHPStorm.
Let me know if there is a specific app you'ld like me to test.
Geert.
AFAIK SmartGit also employs its own JRE.
Please try something like muCommander or JEdit
I just installed jEdit, and it shows the same red screen problem.
Suggestions?
This means that its not the our code but somewhere in JVM/Windows/AirDisplay interoperability. File a ticket to AirDisplay developers, they might have some insight.
OK, I sent them a mail (they have no forum).
I also sent one, I really should have taken a shot of jEdit instead though, otherwise they may try to shift the blame to JetBrains.
The Mac front end for AirDisplay is 10x nicer than the Windows one, unfortunately.
