Uncomfortable work with Git Changes view
Hello. It seems there are going some changes with changes view tab for Git, so I wanted to make some comments on it. See screenshot.
First and the most important, where is the view of changed files in a commit? Maybe I somehow closed it or it disappear a few EAP releases ago, but I really don't know how to open it again.
Information with Hash, Author/Commiter, Description and Contained branches takes too much space, it's not needed so much. Instead there can be a configurable columns in the main view or "Show details" button (like in SVN Changes view), so I can view hash, commiter or branches if I want to. Also I really miss various fiters (user, structure) and grouping, I know it's work in progress now and hope it will be eventually done.
A great feature will be also branch flow graph like gitk or github shows.
I really like how SVN Changes view organized, hope Git will not be worse :)

to get the "Changed Files" pane back again, you could try clicking on the vertical bar just outside the scroll up/scroll down buttons on the log view. Drag it to the left.
For me in PS-98.521 i do have the changed files. but i can make it hidden by taking the dividing bar, clicking on it and dragging it to the extreme right to get the same view as in your image.
Once there it looks like the changed files box is not even there, but dragging it back reveals it again. there is no X button to close it completely. try that.
I tried really hard, but I can't get it back. It shows resizing cursor only near Date header column and even there it doesn't move.
Sorry, it was fixed since 98.533
git log view wouldn't have separate panes, they would are in a splitter, and wouldn't disappear
Thank you for feedback, indeed, we are working on it right now
Should I post suggestions into the tracker?
It almost coinsides with a plan - filters, hierarchy tree
submitting to the tracker is a good idea - to have things in one place, and easily searchable
Thank you
