Adding directories to a project

Hello,

I have a very large code base with many directories of code, and I don't always want to have all of them in a project, but I check them all out at one time.
How can I pick and choose which directories I'd like to include in a project?

Thanks,

you can add a directory as a favorite then in the projects panel choose to only view one group of favorites so that only the files you want to look at will be in front of you.

does that help?

Hello Joseph,

To add a directory to the project you need to open File | Settings | Directories pane and click 'Add Content Root' button at the top. Then, if you wish you can mark rarely used parts of your project as 'Excluded' to hide them in Project view and exclude them from code analysis and indexing.

Thanks for the tips, very cool. My code base is very large, after I clicked OK I'm still hanging out waiting for it to finish. I'm writing this as I'm waiting.
I got into trying phpStorm from using IntelliJ for a while on a Java project. I'm hoping this will work out.

Thanks
