No icon in exe file anymore?

I notice that the windows exe file doesn't contain an icon anymore in
most recent builds. And the icon file delivered separately is of much
lesser quality than the one previously contained in the exe file. Has
this been changed intentionally?

No. We're currently in the middle of an overhaul of our build system, and
some things might be temporarily broken.

I just wondered if you couldn't replace the icon file distributed within
the zip file with the better one formerly contained in the exe file?
