Structure window - stop it from auto-expanding?

I mainly use the structure window to quickly navigate between javascript functions. When I have multiple files open and switch from one tab to another, the structure window auto-expands. I then have to manually do a "collapse all". 

Is there any way to set things so that the structure window will default to displaying itself in a collapsed view?

AFAIK there is no such setting -- the Structure panel lives separate live and gets updated all the time from scratch.
