Updates on plugin progress?

Hi. Although it's still a bit rough, I'm really glad the python plugin is available.  I tried using a python-specific IDE for a while but sorely missed my IDEA environment.  I was just wondering if you had any updates on the progress of the python plugin.   Any information on release dates would also be welcome.
