How to set Python Interpreter on OS X 10.6

Hello street,

You need to select the python binary under the Python framework installation

directory. (The interpreter setup process is still considered work in progress,

and it's likely to change before the final release.)

Very interested in checking out PyCharm, especially for Django

development.

I installed PY - 94.454, ran and "Created a new Project", selected

Django as type.

Then, a modal window for "Django Project Settings" appeared and asked

for the location of the "Python Interpreter"; There is a pull-down

menu but it's empty.

From there, selecting either the OS X Python.framework, or the

absolute location of the Python install (2.6.1), or the symlink at

/usr/lib/python, or my Django 1.1.1 installation or files within, did

not satisfy the "Django Project Settings" modal window.

What do I need to navigate to and select to get past this?

  "System/Library/Frameworks/Phyton.framework/Version/2.6/Reouseces/Python.app/MacOS/Python"

- Issued "Create New Project":

  - Selected Project type: "Django project"

Got the message "No Django support installed in selected interpreter".

Question: Do I need to install Django separately or did I select the wrong interpreter?

Hello frank,

If you never installed Django, you need to install it so that it would be

available in PYTHONPATH. PyCharm doesn't have a feature to install Django

automatically for you.

Thanks -- I added:

/System/Library/Frameworks/Python.framework/Versions/2.6/Resources/Python.app/Contents/MacOS/Python

as the interpreter, which worked great!
