PyCharm dosen't get past initial "setting up library..." window

Hi,

I was trying to demo PyCharm (RC) on a friends Mac running OSX 10.6.

It installed fine. When opened it popped up the window which starts scanning the installed python libraries for files (in this case the standard osx python install) and it hangs on a module (something like tests . xml, I can't remember the exact name). The window never closes so PyCharm can't be used :-(

Any ideas what I can do to make it work?

Thanks

Hello Chris,

Could you please attach logs and threaddumps?

Here are instructions for RubyMine but we'll definitely update them before 1.0 final release.

Here they are http://devnet.jetbrains.net/docs/DOC-1144, http://devnet.jetbrains.net/docs/DOC-1153

Best regards,

Oleg

I've attached the log file, it shows where it seems to hang on test.xmltests.

PyCharm was killed manually both times, which is why the log starts again half way through.

The thread dump folders are empty - I think this is because the UI never hangs, its responsive throughout, it just never finishes scanning tests.xmltests. The window can't be closed though, so PyCharm couldn't be used.

I've filed it as PY-2003. Thanks, Oleg.
