Multiple editor windows?

Is it possible to show multiple editor windows/panes at a time?  I've been using multiple Emacs windows tiled on my desktop for years, and really like to be able to see a lot of code at once.

Hello Fred,

Sure. You can split the editor into multiple panes using Window | Split Vertically

or Window | Split Horizontally (these actions are also available in the editor

tab context menu).

really like to be able to see a lot of code at once.

Unfortunately "Split" is not good enough.  I've already submitted a youtrack for how it should work:

I've started a new discussion here; how can we create multiple projects over the same directory w/ PyCharm?

Thanks
