Possible to display command run status in Mac OS X dock?

Hi!

I'm curious if there is a way to show the status of the currently running command, like Django server, or unit tests, in the Mac OS X Dock.

For instance, PyCharm already does this when it is finished indexing, but it would be awesome if there was a badge showing you the current status of a command. Anyone know of a plugin or maybe it's a feature already?

Thanks

Hello Dmitri,

No, there is no such feature at the moment. Note that in PyCharm you can

have multiple processes running in parallel (including multiple test runs),

so it's not completely clear what should be displayed in the dock in the

general case.

You make a very valid point ;-)

However, how about adding a badge to the dock icon, showing the number of currently running jobs?

And especially in the case of PyCharm, maybe the badge could take into account if the django server is actually running or not...

That would certainly be awesome, even if it's just a badge showing the number of running jobs, without knowing about Django.
