Mac Problems

I'm running Mac OS X 10.6.8 with up to date java. Since switching over to my new macbook pro I have not been

able to get pycharm to run. I have tried 1.5.4, 1.5.3 and 1.2.1. When I try to start it it just crashes  or hangs,

requiring a force quit.

Any ideas?
