How do I disable vcs history visual indicators

Hi,

AppCode shows visual indicators in the left and right gutters highlighting changes since the last commit. These are very visually disturbing - can they be turned off?

Philip,
it's not possible to switch them off, but you can tune the colors in Editor | Colors & Fontds | General (Added Lines, Modified Lines, Deleted Text).

Hi Philip,

Depending on how strongly you want to get rid of these markers, there is one way to do it:
- Disable the plugin for your Version Control System.

You do of course lose the version control functionality in AppCode this way, but if you would rather do the version control on the command line, and not have these markers distracting you, that is a choice you can make.

Cheers,
Maarten

It is interesting to see how user experience differs for different people. For example I consider it one of key differentiators from other editors (including Java ones) and I cannot live without it :-)

It allows me to see easily where modifications are helping me in code navigation. Maybe my classes are too big.

Thanks for all the ideas. I've ended up disabling the plugin for now as I use the command line exclusively for git. I know that other people find this feature useful, but in general I find the main setup of AppCode much to cluttered for my taste. I like to be able to focus on the code without all kinds of visual distractions, so I've disabled most of what I find visually annoying.
