Simple debugging problem

I am trying pycharm the first time and I am pretty overwhelmed by the plethora of setup options of the software.
I have a small problem that I don't know how to solve. I am writing a simple python script where the user inputs a few variables from raw_input.
Whenever I run/debug the script in pycharm (^R), I have to manually click in the debug window to make it active and enter my variables. If I don't click the focus remains in the editor window and my typing adds nonsense to the code.
I know it's a small thing, but these small things can make a huge difference in loving a program or not.
Is there any setting I should check to pass the focus of the window to the debugging window?

No, there is no such setting.

You can use a keyboard shortcut to focus the debug window. Using the default keymap the shortcut is Alt-5.

On Mac [Command-4] works. Could this request be considered in the wish list?

We would like to avoid cluttering the UI with extra settings.
