Using existing virtualenv and site-packages

Hi, I am running Windows, Cygwin and Virtualenv following this guide: I have created a virtualenv from the command line and installed some packages in it using pip. If I add this virtualenv now as a Python interpreter (Ctrl+Alt+S > Project Interpreter > Configure Interpreters > Add > Local > "cygwin/home/user/.virtualenvs/theenvironment/bin/python.exe) it doesn't add any Packages or Paths. Is this a known problem?

cygwin is not an officially supported environment for PyCharm. You can file an issue at and we'll try to fix it, but in general we don't test PyCharm in the cygwin environment.
