Unknown command: 'runserver'

All of a sudden all my pycharm django projects refuse to run. I get an error message:

/usr/bin/python2.7 /home/dev/myapp/manage.py runserver –noreload localhost:8104
Unknown command: 'runserver'
Type 'manage.py help' for usage.

Strange thing is I can run all the projects fine from the terminal with "python manage.py runserver". Any ideas?

Ok it's not happening across the board with all my projects just two. Seems it's to do with the settings option. PyCharm was happy to use just DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE setting to load my settings file, now no matter if I use DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE, additional options with "–settings=setting_files.mysettings" or just not specifying any settings I keep getting the same error message

More investigation and looks as if there's a problem in the settings file and its failing. Looks like its djangos fault for having the most unhelpful error message "Unknown command: 'runserver'"...doesn't exactly make you think a settings file would be the problem. sigh

Hi Kingfu,

Could you please attach a sample project to reproduce this issue.

Ekaterina, not sure if you saw my follow up messages but it turned out to be a problem with a pretty useless error message django was returning, not a PyCharm configuration issue. Thanks for getting back to me anyway!
