Collecting Data... when debugging Javascript

I'm trying to debug a javascript function from within Chrome.  My breakpoint hits fine and pops me back into PyCharm, and I have a populated "frames" section.  But the variables section just had "Local" and "Global" each with "Collecting data..." written below.  Watches similarly won't evaluate (e.g. "s = ..."

Any suggestions as to what might be wrong?
