Evaluation glitches

I'm new to Python and evaluating PyCharm v4.0.6 and have a couple of issues. I'm running Ubuntu 14.04 and using Glade to generate a UI. I have Python 2.7.6 and 3.4 installed and doing a parallel thing in PyCharm with two projects, one using 2.7.6 the other 3.4.

Both use a utility file named util.py located in each project's source folder by using "import util", the 2.7 project references that fine but the 3.4 project flags it as an unresolved reference yet runs fine. I can ignore the warning but why?

The 3.4 project references:
from gi.repository import Gtk
from gi.repository import Pango
from gi.repository import Gdk

These all needed to build stubs from binary files to resolve. Why?

Lastly, and, I think most importantly, both projects when coding gtk or Gtk widgets/classes code completion popup is only populated by code I've already typed in but nothing else. I should be getting a list of methods/fields but initially I get nothing and then I only get what I've typed in previously.  Why?

I commented out idea.max.intellisense.filesize=2500 in pycharm4.0.6/bin/idea.properties before I built the stubs but no love.

I'd be very grateful for any insight into what might be going on.  If this is what I'll be doing with Python then the IDE or Ubuntu has some nasty flaws for me.

Thanks, Mark
