Background tasks (scala compile) can not be canceled

I am recently using scala in my project. I had tried to do Debug Scala Class: and there was a compilation error. After fixing the error I tried again to Debug Scala Class - and it never completed.  Canceling the tasks (clicking on red x) did not work. I could not even Exit the IJ.    Note: i have enabled fsc.
