Could not save project: Unknown macro: $PROJECT_CONFIG_DIR$ in storage

been using intellij 14 ult with the scala plugin with no issues until today's scala plugin update to 1.1

now i get a popup dialog

"scala plugin update: Could not save project: Unknown macro: $PROJECT_CONFIG_DIR$ in storage
file spec
$PROJECT_CONFIG_DIR$/play2_compiler_settings.xml"

any workaround or help?

projects are all generated by the gradle plugin

Hello, if you use Scala plugin, you should update to the latest nightly here http://confluence.jetbrains.com/display/SCA/Scala+Plugin+Nightly+Builds+for+Cassiopeia  , otherwise you can just disable it.

I seem to be getting a slew of related errors in IDEA 15.0.3; here is an example:

2016-02-03 10:26:40,269 [ 228790] WARN - mponents.impl.stores.StoreUtil - Save settings failed
java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Unknown macro $PROJECT_CONFIG_DIR$
