UI improvement suggestion

I have been evaluating redmine for about 2 weeks and I would like to suggest some UI improvements:

The indicator for new, modified, deleted line in a file could be bolder (make it looks more like netbeans: green, blue and red), on rubymine I could hardly tell the difference between new and modified lines. It's even hard to see changes indication.

The active tab could also be more visible too. (maybe with highlited background). and clearer indication of modified or new file (more contrast on the blue or green filename).

Use more padding everywhere. For example on the settings filter, there is no padding at all (http://skitch.com/e-reynardmh/giqnp/tmp ).
Many of the UI looks like it's too cramped, which makes it look like an unfinished product.

Sometimes the little detail is what makes something much better.

You can configure the colors under Editor | Colors & Fonts. We believe that the colors currently used by default are a good fit for most of the users; of course, depending on your monitor settings, you may need to adjust the colors in order to make them better visible.

I see I can customize the filename color on the tab, but I can't find a way to change the color for in-file changes indicator.
Here is what I mean

on netbeans it has more contrast so it's visually more usable, especially when you are scanning the file quickly.
I think most of the users will find it better if it has more contrast. I don't think it's a matter of preference, it's usability and good UI design. (the same goes for padding and better indication for active tab). I know it's the tendency of programmers to cram as many things as you can on the screen but in many cases it's not the best UI design.

ok I found out that I can change the gutter background, if I make it dark, it brings more contrast to the change indicator, but I wish I can still customize the color of the change indicator because it's still too subtle to differentiate between new and modified lines. I know it's not that important to add capablity customize that but if you just change the default color to something that's noticeably different, then I don't think we need to customze that. (I never feel the need to customize that color on netbeans because it's clear enough to notice the difference between new and modified lines).

Are you talking about RubyMine | Preferences | Editor | Colors & Fonts | Diff  options ?

That changes the color on diff viewer but not on the editor (the stripes on the gutter indicating if it has been modified, added or deleted)
