Installation issue with 3.2 on Mac OS X Follow
Hello,
I saw the update notice for 3.2, thanks! So I downloaded it, dragged it to my "Second" hard drive's "Applications" folder, and started it up.
It asked if I had a previous RubyMine installed to get settings from, and I do, so I clicked the "browse to find it" button. This almost worked... however, it would only show me my "Main" drive. I had to make a soft link from my home to get there (though I could have cancelled the find-the-directory dialog and entered the path by hand).
Not everyone uses their "Main" drive for all applications... it would be nice to choose a different volume.
Thanks!

I had a similar issue. It asked me where my old setting are, but wouldn't accept anything I put in there. And besides, when I click update, why doesn't it just do the entire update right then? Why does it make me do a bunch of steps?
This thread has been outstanding for almost a month.
It indicates a clear problem.
WHY HASN'T IT BEEN ADDRESSED BY THE PERSON RESPONSIBLE FOR THE BUG???
It is PATHETIC when software that I paid for installs less smoothly than a typical open source probject. And it is even worse when there is no responsiveness to legitimate problem reports.
Don't expect to get any more money from me. Ever.
Hi Guys,

Thank you for the issue. In case of clear bugs feel free to sumbit an issue directly in out tracker - http://youtrack.jetbrains.net/issues/ruby.
As for this feature - indeed "File Open Dialog" doesn't show other volumes and we need to fix it, but it is a minor issue, because you always may specify full path to any volume (see screenshot) in path text field.
I filed an issue - http://youtrack.jetbrains.net/issue/RUBY-9087
My issue, I guess, is a little different. I installed Rubymine to the default location (Applications). When the import dialog came up, I tried a number of different folders and I couldn't get it to accept any of them. Next time you announce an update, would you put step by step instructions on how to do it?
Paul, we have planned improvement to the import dialog in the next version.
On Mac this dialog asks path to previous RubyMine*.app. To clarify it I've changed "Specify installation home of ..." to "Specify RubyMine application to import settings from". Ok?
