Editor: Wrapping bug on vertically split windowsIf

If I split the editor vertically and edit a line that is longer than the current split window, when I move the cursor to the right, it suddenly wraps to the beginning of the line in the editor...

RubyMine 2.0.1 (but was present earlier - in the 2.0 betas as well)

Hi,

I cannot reproduce it on RubyMine 2.0.1 rc2. Is Settings | Editor | Virtual Space | Allow placement of caret after end on line checked?

Hmm - I had the setting unchecked. I have now checked it again, restarted RubyMine and the error is gone

If the setting is unchecked caret should be automatically moved to the first column of next line

Hi Roman

I see the same behaviour either with the flag checked or unchecked. It also happens on non split windows:

When the last characters of the line aren't visible and I cursor right, I get warped back to the beginning of the line *before* I hit the end of the line.

If the last character of the line is visible, there are several possibilities:

  • it works as expected (either continuing on the same line (setting checked) or jumps to the beginning of next line
  • It warps to the beginning of line
  • It warps to the first line visible in the window

So it seems like total, utter chaotic behaviour.

How can I help you reproduce this? (And I see the behaviour both on Windows and Mac)

cheers
jc
