RubyMine pricing (vs. IntelliJ community edition)

Hi,

now that IntelliJ community edition has been announced - how will this affect the pricing of RubyMine?
I am thinking a free Java IDE vs. $100 for a Ruby IDE is not going to be popular.

Will the Ruby plugin be available for the community edition?

Thanks,

Simon

Hello Simon,

At the moment we don't have any plans to change the pricing of RubyMine.
The Ruby plugin will only work with the ultimate edition.

I paid the $100 for RubyMine and it was worth every penny.  $100 is still substantially less than what people might have paid for even a Personal license of IDEA, and RubyMine has substantially more comparable features than has IDEA Community Edition.  I don't think the people who would use RubyMine are going to be terribly bothered by its current price.

Now when is 2.0 going to be released?!

Hello Thomas,

Thanks for the warm words, we really appreciate it.
RubyMine 2.0 is going to be released at the end of October.
