Hello Charles,

Make sure the files you open are under the content root of your project -
i.e. you use Open Directory and select the root directory of your project.
Reformat Code is currently not supported for files outside of the content
root.

Thank you.   It seems to work now.   I am not sure why.  I don't think the suggestion you made is the issue but I can't reproduce it, so I am done.

Charles,
Rubymine has a habit of getting ahead of itself .  That is, it tries to cache a lot of stuff and infer from it all kinds of things; in this process, it gets confused often.  The best rule of thumb that I have found is that:

1.  I Invalidate the Cache, &
2.  I get out of Rubymine and restart it thereby allowing it to rebuild its cache.

I know it is annoying, but is a small price to pay for more predictable performance.

This is somewhat analogous to "hitting it with a hammer" but it works

Hope this helps.

I will see you at the Boston Ruby Group meeting.

Cheers.

Bharat
