Show current file in Project view?

Hello lylo,

Is there a way of revealing the file you're currently editing in the
Project view? I generally open files using Cmd-T but quite often I'd
like to quickly show the folder in which this file resides in the
Project view.

You can use Select In... (Alt+F1) action to open file in editor in Project or Rails view.
Also in Project pane you can enable Autoscroll from/to sources.

@Artiom, this is can achieved with a single kepmap called "Select in Project View" , which is available in PhpStorm v2016.3 or later.

Linczy, instead of Autoscroll from/to there're now 'Open Files with Single Click' and 'Always Select Opened File'. Could you please specify what exactly doesn't work?

To show the current file permanently the setting on Projects view is now called "Always Select Opened File"

In PhpStorm v2016.2.1, "ALT-F1" opens the "Select Target" popup menu and I have to press "1" to select the "Project View".

Is there any way this can be achieved with a single key mapping?

I want to be able to select the file I'm editing in the left pane which is Project Explorer. By pressing Alt+F1 I get a drop-down menu opened where I should then select "1. Project". How to assign a single shortcut key to immediately select the file in the Project?

This Autoscroll to/from Source was disappeared from the menu. 2020.1 version.

Is it any way to somehow set this functionality? This should be a really basic functionality of an IDE. 

The Always select opened file doesn't work from both direction.

So frustrating that JB keeps breaking stuff and the solutions keep changing. 

Open files used to get selected in the project pane. Suddenly that behavior stops. The answers I find are all outdated.

You can assign another shortcut for View | Tool Windows | Project by going to Settings | Keymaps.

Thanks @olga.  However, the key map you are referring to is not available in phpStorm v2016.2.1.  Someone told me this will be available in v2016.3

The action seemed to be called "Locate/Select in Solution View" in 2018.

Harry, if you mean the ‘ Always Select Opened File ’ option, then it's available in the Project view under three dots (Options) → Behavior.
