Recent change notes formatting?

I just uploaded my first plugin, and I've noticed a couple of things. First, the project website page link didn't appear - I'm pretty sure I filled it in in the form. Second, the release notes formatting is all screwed up (see http://plugins.intellij.net/plugin/?idea&id=5967) - should this be HTML, Markdown or something else?

Can I go back and edit these values or do I just have to upload a new version? All I can see is a link to update the plugin.

Hi Colin,

Project website link should be specified in plugin.xml: <vendor url="http://...">.
Release notes formatting is HTML.
You can edit a plugin from you profile page.

Great, thanks. It's still not picking up the website link but I can live with that, the formatting was the main thing.

May be that's because the plugin itself is missing? :)

Hehe, no, it's definitely there. I just downloaded it and installed it again. Additionally the file size shows up correctly in the website, but not the link to the file. The project home page does show up correctly in IntelliJ though, in the plugins view, so it's obviously finding the plugin.xml there ok.

A few more questions:

1) It seems I can only edit the release notes if I upload a new jar, is this right? I also always have to enter a new copy, I can't edit what's there already.

2) I still can't get the website link to show up, and the download link for my plugin still only shows up on the first revision even though I can download the plugin successfully. The website link is linked from my name (which is the vendor URL) but I can't see where or how to add a project website link.

3) I tried to put the release notes in the plugin.xml in the changenotes tag, but it complained because I tried to put HTML in there. The DTD type for that element is PCDATA.

4) Can I delete comment spam myself?

In general, I develop my plugin with pleasure, but uploading it for the world to see is pretty painful. If Jetbrains want people to develop plugins it would be good to improve this.

Hi Colin,

0) You're right, the repository has lots of drawbacks unfortunately. We're working on an new one although release date is undefined yet.

1) True. That's how it's implemented now. See above.

2) Sorry, my bad. <vendor url="..."> is indeed a vendor url, and a project link should be in a <idea-plugin url="...">. Also, please try adding version="2" attribute to the <idea-plugin> tag. And (as an unrelated note) moving <module-components> behind <project-components> probably won't harm :)

3) Put a release notes in a CDATA section:

 <change-notes><![CDATA[
 ... html here ...
 ]]></change-notes>

4) I afraid not. I'll ask around if someone can clean that mess.

Hi Roman,

Great, thanks for the reply. Is there a YouTrack project for the repository that I should enter issues in? Also, if I put the release notes in the change-notes section is that what will be displayed on the plugin page (i.e. I won't have to enter it in the form)?

Thanks,
Colin

Correct. See the plugin.xml as the data source of the page (except for the screenshot, comments/ratings and downloads number).

I am too tired of the spamming in the comments. It would be nice with an enhanced security handling.

The manual cleaning is nice but I have noticed that ratings have not always been dealt with properly. On some plugin pages you can clearly see that the ratings have not been deducted and that they no longer represent the rating from their users.

It should. However my experience was negative and I had had to copy change notes into a form.

There is a project in YouTrack but it is for the version being in development.
At the moment please write to plugins-admin at jetbrains.com.
