Git confusion

I'm using IDEA 10.0.2 and the GitHub plug-in. I committed a change and
IDEA says that I committed it but GitHub has no record of any changes today.

Obviously I'm doing something wrong, but what?

Suggestion?

Hello Donald,

You need to push your changes to GitHub after you commit them.
