How to configure custom plugin in Setting page problematically?

Hi Team,
I need to configrure my custom plugin in Setting page. Currently I configured with plugin.xml. but I need to configure it programatically. How should i do that? also need to display my plugin details like in attached image.

setting_page.jpg

When I configured in plugin.xml, my plugin node displyed like "Catagory:MyPluginName". How to configure display only "MyPluginName" without "Catagory".

Please help me on this.

Thanks,
Navin

This is not supported. The categories in the Settings dialog have been introduced to reduce UI clutter, and third-party plugins cannot add additional categories because otherwise the clutter would come back. Please find a place for your plugin under one of the existing categories.

Thanks for the quick reply. Is there anyway that we can set our own description?

You can't change the description of a standard category. If you create your own configurable under a standard category, you can show any text or other UI elements on your configurable.

On a general note, I would appreciate if you could avoid asking the same question multiple times after getting a reply telling you that something is unsupported and you should not do that. (See https://devnet.jetbrains.com/message/5548864#5548864 for the previous discussion.)

[changed the thread title]

Hi Dimitry,
Thanks for the reply. I think you got me wrong. I don't need to change title on standard catergary. As I mentioned in https://devnet.jetbrains.com/thread/466277?tstart=0. After I configured in my plugin, as a top level one, description part appear as "!configurable.group.Test.settings.description". Is there any property or API available to configure own plugin description.

Thanks,

No, I did not get you wrong. You are trying to add a new top-level category to the Settings dialog. This is not supported. You get some results which look like this might be working, but the specific behavior that you are seeing is an implementation artifact and may change at any time. There is no API for changing this to show what you want to see.

Once again: please put the settings of your plugin under an existing category.
