git4idea

What is the experience of people using the git4idea plugin?

Which version of intelliJ supports the plugin?

Could you post some screen shots of the git4idea UI?

Thank you,

Ted

Here is a screenshot of what the commit dialog looks like. The
differences to SVN are that there is the Push Changes option, Author
field (in case the author is different from the committer), and the
comment field has always an annoying help text (no remembering of the
previous message).

The basic functionality works ok, but there are some problems:

- The previous commit message is not remembered, and if you cancel a
commmit, the incomplete commit message which you just typed is not
remembered. The issue is the same as
http://www.jetbrains.net/jira/browse/IDEADEV-32987 was for SVN.

- You can view the changes of a single file (through right-clicking a
file), but you can not view all recent changes in the Changes tab.

I have not tried using the advanced Git features through IDEA, such as
rebasing. For those I prefer using the command line. It would be nice if
IDEA would provide easy access to the command line.

git4idea is bundled with IDEA 8.1 EAP.
